OUR MISSION + OUR VALUES

WHO WE ARE

Grind + Growth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses economics to educate, empower, and inspire communities with long-term economic sustainability. We’re an economic growth agency that believes all people should reap the benefits of entrepreneurial learning and business ownership, that they can prosper from for a lifetime.

Yet because minority entrepreneurs disproportionately benefit from economic equity and don’t get the same funding or support, compared to their non-minority counterparts. We’ve designed our programs around best practices for growing a visionary, independent, innovative, and resourceful change-makers.

Our vision and hope, is that by helping minority communities and families apply sound financial practices, they can achieve financial success and economic equity in business and in life.

WHAT WE DO

Grind + Growth is an entrepreneurial-based nonprofit organization committed to helping create independent, innovative, change-makers through entrepreneurial learning. Our focus is wealth creation in urban communities. We use advocacy, partnerships, mentorship, and trainings to provide families with the resources needed to achieve long-term economic sustainability. Through entrepreneurship training, talent development, and financial education, we educate, inspire, and empower individuals to start building legacies and secure financial futures.

Our organization is committed to economic growth, equity, and the development of the minority communities and their potential for prosperity. We believe that entrepreneurship and economic growth are the tools that will accelerate a prosperous future amongst economically-challenged demographics. We provide business acceleration programs, financial education courses, as well as classes that develop skills and strengths for the workforce.

WHY WE DO IT

Grind + Growth uses hands on economic gardening in the minority communities to support growth and long term economic sustainability. We believe that entire communities are impacted and are better off when entrepreneurs are able to take action.

OUR JOURNEY: AS AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION

Founded in 2019 by Serial Entrepreneur and Educator Valerie V. Liddell, Grind + Growth was created in direct response to provide an opportunity and to meet a need. Currently, minority entrepreneurs are starting businesses that don’t get the same funding, support, and are at a distinct disadvantage when compared to their non-minority counterparts. The financial system has historically discriminated against and oppressed minority business owners. That’s why it’s important to support minority businesses as a way to create a positive change in this country.

OUR PLEDGE TO THE COMMUNITY

Our 5 year pledge is to serve over 1,000 minority entrepreneurs with the support of the community. We will help entrepreneurs build and grow sustainable businesses driven to accelerate economic sustainability, equity and transform the nation.
